Table Football Events in the UK

The British Foosball Association (BFA) organises and sanctions competitions across the United Kingdom. Competitions can be organised by BFA-affiliated Clubs, and the BFA itself.

There are two types of competitions organised:

– Tournaments
– Leagues

Tournaments

Tournaments are player versus player (singles or doubles) competitions, and fall into different categories based on their prestige, difficulty, player licence requirements and ranking points yielded.

The UK Tour

UK tournaments are sanctioned by BFA and contribute to the UK Tour.

All BFA-sanctioned tournaments must adhere to the Tournament Regulations.

To participate in the UK Tour players need a BFA Player Licence.

Championship Tournaments

The UK Championship

The UK Championship is the most prestigious tournament in the UK. It is held every two years, with the winners of each category crowned UK Champion. It is a qualifying tournament for the ITSF World Championship.

The UK Legends

The UK Legends is held every two years. It is a qualifying tournament for the ITSF World Championship, and it commemorates the outstanding achievements of those who have made a significant contribution to the UK game. These individuals are inducted as UK Legends.

ITSF 500 & ITSF 250 Tournaments

ITSF tournaments are tournaments that contribute to the UK Tour and ITSF World Tour [link], and yield both BFA and ITSF ranking points. They are some of the largest tournaments on the UK Tour, and attract players from all over the world. 

Challenger Tournaments

Challenger tournaments are tournaments that contribute to the UK Tour. They are national-level tournaments predominantly organised by BFA-affiliated Clubs and yield BFA ranking points.

Regional Tournaments

Regional tournaments are annual Regional Championships designed to determine the Champion of each region. They are for all players in the region and are organised by BFA-affiliated Clubs from within the region. They are qualifying tournaments for the UK Championship and yield BFA ranking points.

Local Tournaments

Local tournaments are events organised by Clubs predominantly for their Club members and players in their local area. They can range from casual Monster Draw-Your-Partner evenings to more serious Open Doubles events, and anything in between. All Clubs are encouraged to organise at least one tournament per month.

Leagues

Leagues are Club vs Club (team format) competitions. There are currently the following BFA-sanctioned Leagues:

The UK Club Championship

The UK Club Championship is the most prestigious league in the UK. It is held every year, with the winners crowned UK Club Champions. It is the UK’s qualifying competition for the European Champions League.

London Foosball League

The London Foosball League is for all BFA-affiliated Clubs based in London. Information on the teams, the league, the current table and the next fixtures can be found in the London Foosball League section.

South West Foosball League

The South West Foosball League is for all BFA-affiliated Clubs based in the South West.
