Growing Table Football on Wearside
Sunderland has communities stretching from its city centre and riverside to the coast, giving us plenty of potential places from which to build a new table football scene.
We want to hear from players in areas including Roker, Fulwell, Hendon, Ryhope and elsewhere across Sunderland and Wearside. Roker and neighbouring Seaburn give the city a particularly distinctive coastal identity alongside its communities around the River Wear.
The idea is to begin by finding out who wants to play and bringing those people together.
From there, we would like to establish a regular playing night and ultimately a Sunderland table football club where players can meet throughout the year.
It could start simply with social games and develop into coaching, leagues and tournaments as more people become involved.

Maybe you enjoy table football but only get to play occasionally. Perhaps you are looking for some stronger competition, or you have moved to Sunderland and do not know anyone locally who plays.

The British Foosball Association (BFA) is the national governing body for table football in the UK.
Our work includes supporting established clubs and competitions while also helping new groups of players find each other and get local communities started.
For Sunderland, the first step is creating that network.
By finding players from across the city and Wearside, we hope to build a sustainable club that gives people somewhere to play socially, improve their game and get involved in competition if they choose.
