Bringing people together through table football
The British Foosball Association (BFA) is the UK’s national governing body for table football, also known as foosball. We help people discover the game, find others to play with and take their involvement as far as they want to go.
Our work connects every level of the sport: from someone picking up the handles for the first time to experienced players representing Great Britain at international competitions.
We bring together players, clubs, organisers and businesses with a shared ambition: to give more people the opportunity to enjoy table football and help the sport grow across the UK.

Building clubs and local communities
Clubs are at the heart of British table football. They give people somewhere to meet, practise, share advice and enjoy regular games together.
We connect players with existing clubs and help people take the first steps towards starting new ones. We’re also working to bring players together in areas where there isn’t yet an established club, creating opportunities for new communities to develop.
A club doesn’t need a dedicated sports venue. It can grow around a table in a pub, university, school, workplace or community space. What matters is having people who want to play and someone to help bring them together.
Helping players learn and improve
There’s always something new to learn in table football, from controlling the ball and completing your first pass to developing a reliable shot or working more effectively with a doubles partner.
We share guidance on the rules, skills and techniques of the game, helping players build confidence and get more from their time at the table. Our club network also connects newcomers with experienced players who can offer encouragement and practical advice.
For players with competitive ambitions, that learning can continue through club events, national competition and opportunities within the Team GB pathway.
Supporting competition across the UK
Competition gives players a chance to challenge themselves, meet new people and put their practice into action.
The BFA helps coordinate and support organised table football across the country, working with clubs and tournament organisers on local, regional and national competition.
Alongside the events themselves, we provide the structure that supports competitive play: player licences, national rankings and ratings, tournament regulations and access to the competition calendar.
Whether you’re entering your first tournament or competing for a national title, our aim is to help you understand the opportunities available and how to take part.

Supporting Team GB on the world stage
Representing Great Britain is one of the highest achievements in our sport.
The BFA selects and supports representative teams for international competition, bringing together players, captains and coaches to prepare for the challenges of competing on the world stage.
British table football has produced World Champions and successful international teams. Developing the next generation is part of that work too, with junior opportunities and a Development Squad helping emerging players progress towards the full team.
Team GB gives talented players something to work towards and the wider community something to follow, celebrate and support.
Introducing table football to new audiences
Growing the sport also means taking it to people who might never think of attending a club night or tournament.
Through table football hire, corporate events and trade shows, we help businesses and event organisers bring people together around the table. Our offer includes competition-standard equipment, hosted tournaments and expert challenges, with opportunities to involve Team GB players and World Champions, subject to availability.
These events give people a chance to experience the skill, excitement and sociability of table football for themselves. A quick game can spark an interest that lasts long after the event.
Connecting British table football with the wider world
Founded in 1999, the BFA has helped connect and develop the British table football community for more than two decades.
We were a founding member of the International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF), linking British table football with the wider international sport.
That connection supports a community in which local club players, national competitors and international champions are all part of the same game. We also share news, celebrate achievements and document the people and events that shape British table football.

Looking after the sport
